Each gold-toned component in the Galeria Eldorado collection is crafted using the lost-wax casting technique (cire perdue), echoing methods once mastered by ancient Colombian goldsmiths.
In Bogotá, local artisans sculpt or mould each design in wax. The wax models are encased in a heat-resistant material, then kiln-fired to melt the wax and create a hollow form. Molten copper is poured into this cavity to produce the final piece.
After casting, the metal is carefully cleaned and polished, coated with a layer of silver, and plated with two layers of 24k gold.
A final satin matte finish softly diffuses the light, giving the metal a warm, timeworn glow — evocative of ancient ceremonial jewellery.
This meticulous, hands-on process ensures the uniqueness and authenticity of every piece.

This pendant reinterprets double-headed serpent ear ornaments from the Tairona culture, which flourished in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta region of northern Colombia. The original ornaments preserved by the Museo del Oro in Bogotá are dated to the Tairona period, approximately 900–1600 CE.
In these remarkable gold ornaments, a basic semicircular form is transformed into a double-headed serpent with forked tongues. The composition combines abstraction and animal representation, illustrating the extraordinary imagination and technical refinement of Tairona goldsmiths. The ancient examples were cast in tumbaga — an alloy of gold and copper — using the lost-wax technique, then finished using an oxidation-gilding process that enriched the surface in gold.
Across pre-Columbian America, the serpent carried a rich symbolic significance. Its ability to shed its skin and appear renewed associated it with regeneration and fertility. Coiled upon itself, its form could evoke the spiral and the cyclical nature of time; when extended, its sinuous body could recall the zigzag of lightning and the arrival of seasonal rains.
Here, the ancient ear ornament is reinterpreted as a pendant, preserving its distinctive opposing serpent heads, semicircular silhouette and intricate openwork character while adapting the form for contemporary wear.
Made in Colombia using the lost-wax casting technique and finished with 24k gold plating, this pendant creates a direct visual dialogue with one of the most distinctive forms of pre-Columbian Colombian goldwork.

Galeria Eldorado features jewellery inspired by the goldwork of ancient Colombian civilizations such as the Muisca, Quimbaya, Tairona, Zenú, Calima and Tolima.
These cultures flourished across present-day Colombia from around 1500 BCE until the early 16th century, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of ornaments in tumbaga — an alloy of gold, copper, and sometimes silver.
Today, these artefacts are preserved in major museums, including the Museo del Oro (Bogotá), the Museum of Ethnology (Berlin), the Museo de las Américas (Madrid), the MET (New York), the British Museum (London) and the Musée du Quai Branly (Paris).
Galeria Eldorado revives these ancestral forms through contemporary craftsmanship.
Each piece is handcrafted in small series, using traditional techniques and natural materials. The golden elements are cast and finished in Bogotá, continuing the lineage of Colombia’s ancestral goldsmithing heritage.
Bracelets, earrings, and necklaces featuring natural stones are often one-of-a-kind, selected and assembled individually to ensure the uniqueness of each piece.

These elegant earrings are inspired by semilunar ear ornaments from the ancient Zenú goldsmithing tradition of northern Colombia.
Their distinctive crescent-shaped form combines delicate openwork circles with finely textured borders, creating the appearance of intricate metal lace. Suspended beneath concentric disc studs, the design is reinterpreted as a lightweight contemporary earring while preserving the remarkable geometry of ancient Zenú jewellery.
Each pair is cast in Colombia using the lost-wax technique and finished by hand with a soft satin gold patina.
