The jewellery of Galeria Eldorado preserves the forms and intricate details of ancient Colombian goldwork through a contemporary reproduction process.
Each design originates from an impression taken from an original pre-Columbian ornament. These historical forms are reproduced in Bogotá using reusable moulds, allowing their distinctive shapes and decorative details to be faithfully preserved.
Once cast, the metal components receive a silver underlayer followed by 24k gold plating. A final satin matte finish gives each piece its characteristic warm, softly diffused glow, reminiscent of ancient gold ornaments.
While the original artefacts were often created using sophisticated techniques such as lost-wax casting, today's reproductions are made using contemporary moulding and metal-finishing processes.
Through this approach, Galeria Eldorado brings the remarkable artistry of ancient Colombian goldsmiths into contemporary jewellery.

This pendant draws inspiration from the goldsmithing traditions of the ancient Quimbaya, who inhabited the middle Cauca River valley in present-day Colombia, approximately 100–1600 CE.
Among the ornaments created by pre-Columbian goldsmiths, narigueras — nose ornaments worn through the nasal septum — occupied an important place in personal adornment. Their elaborate forms reflect the remarkable technical skill and artistic imagination of ancient Colombian metalworkers.
The design of this pendant recalls an ancient nose ornament, combining raised spirals and finely ribbed surfaces around a central opening.
A recurring motif in pre-Columbian art, the spiral may evoke movement, continuity and cyclical renewal, although its precise symbolic meaning in this particular design remains uncertain.
Handcrafted in Colombia using the lost-wax casting technique and finished with 24k gold plating, this pendant transforms an ancestral ornamental form into a contemporary jewel.

Galeria Eldorado features jewellery inspired by the goldwork of ancient Colombian civilizations such as the Muisca, Quimbaya, Tairona, Zenú, Calima and Tolima.
These cultures flourished across present-day Colombia from around 1500 BCE until the early 16th century, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of ornaments in tumbaga — an alloy of gold, copper, and sometimes silver.
Today, these artefacts are preserved in major museums, including the Museo del Oro (Bogotá), the Museum of Ethnology (Berlin), the Museo de las Américas (Madrid), the MET (New York), the British Museum (London) and the Musée du Quai Branly (Paris).
Galeria Eldorado revives these ancestral forms through contemporary craftsmanship.
Each piece is handcrafted in small series, using traditional techniques and natural materials. The golden elements are cast and finished in Bogotá, continuing the lineage of Colombia’s ancestral goldsmithing heritage.
Bracelets, earrings, and necklaces featuring natural stones are often one-of-a-kind, selected and assembled individually to ensure the uniqueness of each piece.

To preserve the distinctive satin matte finish of the gold-plated components, avoid prolonged contact with water, perspiration, perfumes, creams and other cosmetics.
We recommend removing your jewellery before showering, swimming or sleeping, and avoiding rubbing or polishing the gold-plated surface.
When not worn, store your piece separately from other jewellery, in a dry place, to protect it from friction, scratches and humidity.
Proper care will help preserve its warm golden appearance and matte finish over time.
