En los orígenes de “Tesoros de Mallorca”
El alma arqueológica de Mallorca en joyas
“Treasures of Mallorca” is the name of the project Alice Michel has been nurturing since 2018 — the year of a defining encounter with a Majorcan jeweller, heir to three generations of craftsmanship, and of her settlement in the heart of Palma’s old town.
Her home and workspace sit at the crossroads of Carrer de l’Argenteria — where silversmithing and goldsmithing have been documented since the early 14th century — and the discreetly noble Carrer de Can Savellà teeped in aristocratic heritage and layered with traces of Roman and later Islamic history.
From this deep-rooted connection — both geographical and personal — arose a heartfelt desire to bridge past and present by telling the story of the island through meaningful jewellery.
In 2024, her friend Laura Berthier, inspired by this vision, spontaneously sketched the first designs, giving form to the future collection, aptly named “Tesorillo.”
La colección Tesorillo
Homenaje a la orfebrería andalusí revelada en Mallorca
Buried underground for centuries, the “Almohad hoard” preserved at the Museo de Mallorca offers a precious testament to the island’s Islamic-era artisanal wealth.
Our first collection, titled “Tesorillo”, draws inspiration from a set of jewellery, pearls, hardstones, and gold and silver coins known as the “Almohad hoard.”
This exceptional deposit, dated to the late 12th – early 13th century, was discovered by chance inside a small terracotta jar buried in the caves of Mestre Perico, in Costitx — a village in the heart of the island, then part of the vast territory of al-Ándalus under Almohad rule.

Serie La Flor
El renacer de un adorno antiguo
Conceived as a contemporary echo of the quadrilobe motif found in the Costitx treasure, the La Flor set explores new interpretations of this four-petal ornamental form.
Once embroidered onto textiles, these shapes now break free from their original support to become jewellery — discreet or bold — reborn as rings, earrings, bracelets, brooches or pendants.
Each piece, handcrafted one by one in gold or gold-plated silver and patiently worked using the repoussé technique, merges ancestral knowledge with modern precision. The artisan’s gesture transcends centuries, bringing light back to a form long buried.
