Mapoésie is a Parisian brand founded by Elsa Poux in 2010, blending art and craftsmanship through unique textile collections. Between art and design, the universe of Mapoésie combines graphic expression with a poetic spirit, relying on exceptional artisanal savoir-faire.
A graduate of the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris, Elsa Poux draws her inspiration from ethnic cultures and the work of Sonia Delaunay. She has developed a distinctive abstract and contemporary style, where soft and acid colors embrace and electrify each other at the same time.
Produced in limited series, her creations prioritize natural materials and artisanal craftsmanship, applied to accessories, home decor, and ready-to-wear.
Each piece, designed in Paris and screen-printed in India using a traditional process, requires patience and precision to reveal its rich and vibrant colors, one layer at a time.
Screen Frame Printing
Mapoésie uses a traditional screen frame printing technique, an ancestral form of silk-screen printing that demands exceptional precision and patience. Each color is applied separately using a dedicated frame, carefully layered to create the final pattern. The process takes place on long printing tables, with skilled artisans working in pairs to position and apply each frame by hand. This meticulous technique enhances color depth and detail, ensuring a high-quality, unique print that defines Mapoésie’s artistic identity. Once the motif is fully revealed, a final color fixation process ensures its durability and vibrancy over time.
Natural Materials
Mapoésie prioritizes natural fibers throughout its collections, favoring high-quality cotton for its softness, breathability, and durability. The addition of a small percentage of polyester enhances the fabric’s resilience and longevity, ensuring that your beach towel maintains its vibrant design and premium feel over time.
Handmade Uniqueness
Mapoésie products are crafted with the utmost care, relying on traditional artisanal techniques. Small irregularities may be present on each piece, as they are an integral part of the handmade process and contribute to its unique charm. Each Mapoésie creation is one of a kind, bearing the mark of the skilled hands that brought it to life.
Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle.
We recommend washing separately the first time, ideally with a color-catcher sheet.
Do not bleach or tumble dry.
Iron on low if needed.
