Alice Michel – About me

Born in France in 1988, I settled in Mallorca in 2015, an island deeply connected to my childhood and to a long-standing sense of belonging. After studying Applied Foreign Languages at Paris-Sorbonne University (Paris IV) and Art History at the École du Louvre, I opened my first boutique in Palma, Calame, inspired by a Parisian shop of the same name where I had happily worked during my student years.

Over time, my path naturally evolved. While continuing to run my boutique, I began an in-depth study of astrology, drawn both to its historical roots and to its symbolic, humanistic dimension. In February 2023, I joined a school of humanistic and transpersonal astrology, committing myself to several years of study.

My former boutique, located in Palma’s historic jewellers’ district at No. 3 Argentería Street, led me to meet Arturo Segura Fuster, a local jeweller. He offered me the opportunity to present my collections — jewellery, bags and accessories — in a new space at No. 3 Can Savellà Street, under a new name: Ambart.

In Mallorquin, “Amb art” means “with art”. The name pays tribute to artisanal craftsmanship while echoing some of our museum-inspired collections, such as pre-Columbian jewellery, astrolabes, and antique compasses. On a more personal level, it also reflects a collaboration “with Art-uro”, incorporates the initials AMB for Alice Michel Boutique, and subtly alludes to astrology, a discipline long considered an art in its own right.

For several years, my readings and research have shaped my life, inspired my creativity, and allow me today to accompany you in your meaningful, bespoke jewelry projects.
